This year has been extremely unique, with many challenges and especially to investors. 2020 has been a very eventful year, it started with uncertainty in the markets and then became very volatile. The market showed to recover quite fast after the huge crash following the pandemic and we were there to catch it. FDGT has managed to achieve a 122% total return on its live portfolio. In this article, I break down some of the stocks that I believe contributed to this success and what is our current position.

NIO (NYSE: NIO)

From our targeted sectors, I chose to start from the electric vehicles (EV) sector. Nio (NYSE: NIO) also referred to as Chinese Tesla is up 1174% since last year. The stock is now $48.80, and we at FDGT invested in this stock when it was $6. Let me make it easier for you, this is an 813% return so far. We are expecting Nio to increase in the following years, reaching at least $75 price by the end of 2021. Some companies from the EV sector including Nio have reported strong delivery results and are expected to keep rallying up in 2021.

XPENG (NYSE: XPEV)

The other stock that proved to be very successful this year from the EV sector was Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV). We were heavily invested in Xpeng at $25, sold a big amount at $49 and re-enter at $38. The total return of this investment was 96%. You can read our related Trading View idea by clicking here. Xpeng has just reported strong delivery results, as mentioned above and we believe that it has a better car than Li auto. We have also done a comparison between Nio, Xpeng and Li auto which you can read here.

NIKOLA (NASDAQ: NKLA)

Another stock that falls under the EV market is Nikola Corporation (NASDAQ: NKLA). This stock has been dropped dramatically in the last year after some news that proved to be fake news. If you don’t know what I am talking about it is a truck video made by the company that was misleading clients and investors. Some think that it was the CEO’s fraudulent activity, Mark Russell that presented an autonomous driving truck, without the truck actually driving itself. However, this caused a huge mess in the market in September 2020, where the stock was $50 and dropping ever since to $16.08. What we did is actually different than what you are expecting. We did sell the stock, instead, we bought it at $19 after some fundamental news in November and sold it at $26. The truth is the stock went up to $34, where we could have taken it all the way there but didn’t want to risk it since we knew this stock is for short positions. We managed to achieve a 36% total return.

Switchback Energy Acquisition (NYSE: SBE)

Next, I will cover the electric charging sector that FDGT is very optimistic about. Overall, we focus on upcoming and innovative sectors and we do believe in alternative fuel for vehicles. Switchback Energy Acquisition (NYSE: SBE) is one of our biggest investments since it’s involved in the production of EVs as well as charging equipment. We bought the stock at $18.58 in November and we still hold it. The current price of the stock is $40.08 giving us a 115% total return so far.

On the same day, we invested in SBE we also invested in Blink Charging (NASDAQ: BLNK). The price we entered is $19.25, at $45 we sold some stocks giving us a 133% profit. We still hold this stock and our premium members have full access to our live transactions daily. This is why our portfolio is a live portfolio, and members can follow our sell and buy actions. Novavax (NASDAQ: NVAX)

Moving on to the most important development of this year, the COVID-19 vaccine. Companies like Novavax Inc (NASDAQ: NVAX) were one of our investments catching it on $86 and taking it all the way to $119 where we sold our entire position or like FDGT calls it the stock flip. We achieved a 38% return on our investment along with some of our clients that followed this move. The current price is now $111. Novavax has a deal to deliver the vaccine to Europe in the amount of 200 million doses, as well as, 10.7 million doses in New Zealand. What is more, last week it has announced its Phase 3 study for its COVID-19 vaccine candidate in the U.S and Canada.

Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: MRNA)

For the same reason, we were watching Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: MRNA) very closely. We understood that if Moderna closed vaccine purchase with several countries such as Israel before the results of the trials came out, that meant the vaccine trials were successful and the stock will rise once trial results will be published. We finally entered Moderna at $88.97 and sold our entire position at $137. The stock is now trading at a price of $104, so FDGT manages to sell before the fall and establish a 53% total return.

Lemonade (NYSE: LMND), one of our favorite stocks this year is a stock that we urged everyone to buy it. We invested in Lemonade because of its use of artificial intelligence (AI) even though it is an insurance company. It has proved to meet our expectations since we entered at $65 and sold our entire position at $121 achieving higher than expected returns of 86%.

These were some of our successful investments of 2020. We are looking forward to 2021 with a much bigger focus on Genome Advanced Tech that could hopefully treat deadly diseases in the future. We also estimate that 40% of the current employees will be replaced by robotics and AI and eliminate most of the current day-to-day employment. For full access to our live portfolio, you can sign up for our premium deal and make sure that you get these stocks before they become known to the whole market such as Lemonade, Blink Charging and Switchback Energy, and many more that we did not mention in this article.

FDGT wishes you a Happy New Year and maximized profits!
