Starboard SPAC in talks $3.4 Billion Deal for Data-Center Company Cyxtera

  • Starboard Value LP in talks on a deal with -center provider Cyxtera Technologies Inc., according to unofficial sources.
  • The deal is valued at around $3.4 billion including debt… It could potentially be finalized by Monday.
  • Cyxtera has more than 60 data centers around the world, and it is currently serving thousands of companies and government agencies.
  • The demand for data and cloud services is at an all-time high in the last year and the demand is only increasing.
  • The Starboard vehicle raised $360 million when it went public last year.

Databricks is preparing for an IPO

  • According to CNBC Databricks said it’s storing and analyzing large data software will be public through Google cloud.
  • The company announced it will prepare for an official IPO in the upcoming year.

  • “We drive billions in revenue to the cloud vendors, so they need us,” CEO Ali Ghodsi said in an interview earlier this month. ’We’re the killer app.”
  • The addition is expected to drive more traffic to google cloud and we are waiting on an official IPO date
